Last week I bought a new lens for my camera. Finally I sold all of my old Olympus 4/3 stuff. I now only own Olympus micro 4/3 cameras and lenses. And what I'm really proud of is that I only have the Pro series lenses. Along with my new 40-150 F2.8 came a second OMD EM1 body that I wanted for a long time. So all good reasons to go out more and test this stuff out!
So this morning I had no clue where to go. The minute I stepped out of the door I realised that I needed a place with a lot of water. There was a little fog starting to come out and I was hoping that it would increase during the morning.
I decided to drive to a place called the devils pit about half an hour from my house. It’s been a long time since I’ve been out but I immediately feel comfortable in nature. It is cold but that doesn’t mind at all. The trees and bushes around me are in full autumn colours and as the fog isn’t coming up as much as I wanted I start looking for different compositions.
I spotted a little tree in autumn colours on the edge of a lake. The background was still in the shade and I saw a great shot in my mind. The first shots where a little dull and I needed to find something quickly before the background would light up. I found another autumn coloured tree on my side of the lake and then the pieces fell at its place. I pictured the opposite tree trough the leaf’s of the tree on my side. It created a colour spectacle with a nice feel to it. I’m really happy with this picture and in my mind I saw another picture coming up.
I focused on one branch of the tree on my side leaving the rest of the frame out of focus and in the darkness creating a really nice autumn shot. Happy with my two shots I walked around the area but soon the light was harsh and I decided to go back home and warm up.
