Again a trip to the Deelerwoud. Hoping to get my Red Deer shot I start walking into the area during the twilight. After 5 minutes I hear a car coming closer. It stops in front of me and a ranger steps out of the car.
The ranger tells me that I’m too early in the area and he writes me a ticket of 104 euro. I try friendly to explain myself but the ranger is stubborn. When I think about it he is in his right. I know that I’m to early and so I accept my ticket. The first ticket in all those years photographing! The ranger is kind enough to give me some advice about where and when to see the Red Deers. Unfortunately he thinks I will have to wait 1 or 2 weeks.
The ranger does not allow me to work further into the area and so I head back to the parking lot to wait until it is lighter. There is a beautiful sunrise but I can’t make any good pictures of it from the parking lot. When there is enough light I walk into the area but soon after I notice that I’m to irritated from the ticket. I can’t enjoy myself anymore and so I head back to the car. An amazing 104 euro lighter but a wise lesson richer!
