On new years day I’m going for a walk with my family. It is extremely misty outside and I’m taking a last minute decision to bring my camera. You never know what to expect during these circumstances. We are walking around at the Hatertse Vennen. This is a nature reserve near the town of Nijmegen in the Netherlands.
It is ice cold outside and I can’t see anything further away then 10 meters. After half an hour the mist is clearing a little bit. Suddenly the shapes from the trees are coming through the mist. It feels like a sort of happy hour because nice compositions appear everywhere.
The best picture of the day is a round shaped tree. The top of the tree is pointing towards the sun that is slightly coming through the mist. Another nice composition is the one above this blog. A small section of trees just looks very different then under normal circumstances. All in all this has been a great idea. It was a short sleep but totally worth waking up early for.
